I first met Alastair in Moscow in 1989 when Scottish and Newcastle Breweries sponsored the 369 exhibition in the Palace of Youth, Moscow.  He became a great friend and a sponsor.  This portrait was painted when he was managing director of the Caledonian Brewery in Edinburgh.
