The celebrated English painter John Craxton was partly the reason why I chose to live in Chania on the Greek island of Crete. We became great friends and spent many an evening discussing the world of art in our favourite tavernas. If he knew I was going sea urchin fishing he would often appear to enjoy our fresh catch.
