The late Robin Cook, the former UK foreign secretary, was painted shortly after he resigned from government in protest against the invasion of Iraq in 2003.  He wanted to be portrayed with his two scottie dogs, Tammy and Tasker,  named after his favourite whiskies.  He told me I should paint him with a smile because he was a happy man.
